School Parking Enforcement Update

Following concerns raised by local residents, the school, and pupils regarding unsafe parking around the school during drop-off and pick-up times, neighbourhood officers attended the area to monitor traffic and parking behaviour.

During the visit, officers observed a number of vehicles stopping and parking in unsafe locations, including on a pedestrian crossing. As a result, four Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) were issued to drivers for parking/stopping on the pedestrian crossing.

Pedestrian crossings are designed to provide a safe place for people, especially children, to cross the road. Vehicles stopping or parking on these crossings reduce visibility and increase the risk of collisions and injury.

We would like to thank everyone who has raised concerns and continues to support efforts to keep our roads safe. We ask all motorists to park considerately, follow road traffic regulations, and help ensure the safety of children, parents, and other road users when travelling to and from school.

Officers will continue to engage with the school and local community and will carry out further patrols where necessary to address road safety concerns.
